I was listening to a rendition of parayanams (discourses) by the late highness Kribananda Variyar, a virtual encyclopedia of many vedic and tamil literature I happened to be reading vedic nihilam mathematics out of interest (boredom about the worldly happenings?) as well. It was Kandapuranam the subject and as usual he was referring to anything and everything in his typical style that would add meaning to the subject at hand. His highness was espousing the time duration of the universe the yugams , and how human life had dwindled during these to keep the cyclic constants in synch. the yuga Satya,treta,dwapara,kali has brought down the average age of human from four hundred and eighty during satya yuga to three hundred and sixty in treta yuga to tho hundred and forty in dwapara yuga to 120 in the current Kaliyuga. Even the physical stature of humans decreased with the progress of each yuga. I was dumb-founded the other day on reading about the skeletal remains of giants in different parts of the world. for reference
Giants are believed to have lived extraordinary longer lengths than us and probably from previous yugas.
Each human is endowed with a natural power , and the power to think and comprehend ,touch ,feel, hear, speak and see . When we ascend in karmic powers through the use of this natural power from the current status due to our good karmic consolidation during our life span , we get elevated to the Asura form of life , essentially 360 times more powerful in all aspects of human power.
The asura day and night spans our yearly life cycle of dakshinayana, and uttarayana. The asura form shares this galaxial existence. I was just reading about the new data analysis of kepler mission stating that there are approximately a billion stars in the milky way that have inhabitable planets like the earth!
We can descend in our powers due our misdeeds thru bad karma and take a form of life that would be 360 times meeker than humans . We see them as insects and other forms of lives around us, approximately 360 times shorter in duration. We humans have ascended from such life forms due to assimilating karma points!!
remember "dhulabam manusha janmam" so make use of it to assimilate karmic power for your rebirth... do not descend into the lower forms as it would take a enormous length of effort and time to ascend back to the human form again. No doubt we refer to bad behavior as 'animal like'.
the next higher life dorm is the 'devas' who happen to have a life span and power of 360 asuras.
and then on on to become a brahma ,or the equivalent of star in this galaxy.
I was amazed at the sights of the Sun , our own star, from NASA.
according to the hindu calculations the sun is 360 times powerful, and energetic as a deva.
life span in kali yuga terms -
human being = 120 years
asuras = 130 * 360 human years
devas = 120 * 360 * 360 human years
brahma (sum) = 120 * 360*360*360 = 5.6 billion years.
Since we all exploded out of our sun we can calculate the age of the sun by calculating the age of rocks anywhere in our solar system. The scientific community has dated this anywhere between 4.6 to 4.7 billion years which generally agrees with the hindu calculations. How does the sun go on to the next stage and what is it.
It can eventually assimilate energy by exploding and consolidating with other brahmans and grow into the next higher level of a galaxy, which is termed as 'Vishnu'
'Chanka chakra gadha pani' or 'chakra sudharsana' are merely reflecting the chakra shape of the galaxies.
Every galaxy is a vishnu whose life span is 360 times that of brahma
1 vishnu = 120 * 360 * 360 * 360 * 360 = 2.1 trillion years.
and the eventual destruction of this galaxy is by the great power of Sivan "the black hole" at the center of each and every galaxy.
Every vedic story if read and deciphered with this knowledge will make scientific sense.
